Compact Low End for Smaller Studios and Nearfield Systems

F8S is an active 8 inch studio subwoofer designed to extend monitoring down to 30 Hz without demanding the floor space of a larger sub. Its 200 watt Class D amplifier, flexible crossover and phase controls, two EQ modes and included bypass footswitch make it a practical low frequency extension for home studios, production rooms and desktop systems.

Low end you can check

Built for Bass Decisions, Not Just More Bass

A studio subwoofer is most useful when it reveals information your main monitors cannot reproduce and still lets you judge how the mix behaves without that extra extension. F8S is designed around that workflow.

Extend monitoring to 30 Hz

Hear more of the low frequency region when working on kick, bass, synths, effects and other material that reaches below compact nearfield monitors.

Check mixes with and without the sub

The included footswitch lets you bypass F8S from the listening position so low end extension can become part of your normal A/B checking workflow.

Fit more easily into compact rooms

The 340 × 254 × 270 mm cabinet makes F8S easier to place in home studios and desktop environments where a larger subwoofer may not be practical.

Mix check workflow

Turn the Sub On and Off Without Leaving the Listening Position

The included footswitch makes it easy to compare your monitoring system with bass extension and without it. That helps you judge deep low frequency information while still checking how important mix elements translate on systems with less extension.

Subwoofer engaged Hear the extended low frequency range and evaluate deep bass, sub content and the overall balance between low end elements.

Subwoofer bypassed Check how the mix behaves without extended bass reproduction and confirm that the low end still translates on smaller playback systems.

80 Hz satellite high pass F8S provides an 80 Hz high pass function for connected satellite monitors when used with the footswitch system.

System integration

Controls for Matching F8S to Your Monitors and Room

A subwoofer only works properly when crossover, level, phase and placement allow it to integrate with the main monitors. F8S provides the core rear panel controls needed to tune that relationship at the listening position.

Variable low pass filter 50 Hz to 200 Hz crossover adjustment.

Variable phase 0 to 180 degrees for alignment with the main monitors.

Input gain Match F8S output level to the rest of the monitoring system.

Flat / Punch setting Choose conventional flat response or a more mid bass forward Punch mode.

Balanced connections XLR and 1/4 inch balanced or unbalanced studio connectivity.

RCA inputs Easy integration with desktop, consumer and entertainment sources.

Two voicing options

Flat for Monitoring. Punch for More Mid Bass Impact.

F8S includes two built in EQ choices so you can use it as a conventional studio monitoring extension or select a more energetic presentation when that better suits the material and listening use.

Flat

Use Flat when the priority is balanced low frequency extension and consistent monitoring for production, mixing and critical listening.

Punch

Use Punch when you want more mid bass emphasis for dance music and other material where additional impact is part of the listening experience.

Choose by room and system

F8S or FC10S?

Start with the room, monitoring distance and the amount of low frequency extension you actually need. A larger subwoofer is not automatically the better choice in a compact space.

Compact rooms and nearfield systems

Choose F8S

F8S is the more compact option for home studios, desktop systems and smaller production rooms where 30 Hz extension, flexible integration and a small footprint are the priorities.

Larger rooms and deeper extension

Compare FC10S

FC10S moves to a 10 inch driver and extends lower, making it the stronger choice when the room and monitoring system can make use of greater low frequency reach.
